<h4>LEED for Existing Buildings Certification</h4>
<p>CTG is providing LEED EB O&amp;M certification services for a portfolio of buildings owned by Symantec and operated by Cushman and Wakefield. CTG is assisting with training staff on implementing and documenting best practices. Among the facilities included in CTG&rsquo;s engagement with Symantec are buildings located in Dublin, Ireland and Greenpark in southern Reading, Berkshire, UK.</p>
<p>The Greenpark facility consists of three office buildings, and the Dublin building comprises a large one-story section and a three-story tower. Greenpark is in progress for LEED EB O&amp;M certification, and the Dublin building received LEED EB O&amp;M Gold certification in January, 2010. <p>UGN Network member CTG provided commissioning services in support of the Century Prosper Center in Beijing, China which included both commercial and office building space. The building was rated Gold under the United States Green Building Council&rsquo;s LEED Core and Shell rating system. <p>UGN members served as the integrative design consultant and sustainability facilitator to produce this $25 million high-performance facility for Syracuse University by working closely with Toshiko Mori Architect and LeChase Construction. The resulting award-winning design is pursuing LEED Platinum Certification and is intended to showcase a test bed for innovations in environmental and energy systems. The project represents as a major urban intervention on a severely contaminated brownfield that had previously rendered this district largely uninhabitable and was produced via a unique public-private partnership. <p>Umbrella Green Network (UGN) members supported Manens Intertecnica and the design team from studioa.s. to formulate green strategies by providing integrative design and charrette facilitation services for Ferrero, the world-renowned chocolate manufacturer. The team focused on integrative design strategies to develop this new 16,000 m2 / 172,000 sq.ft. office building on Ferrero&rsquo;s corporate campus in Alba, Italy. <p>Supporting the development and execution of corporate-wide sustainable initiatives at Starwood Hotels &amp; Resorts Worldwide, for implementation in their owned and managed properties across the globe. Services have included collection and analysis of key environmental performance indicators; assessing and prioritizing sustainability initiatives for portfolio-wide roll out; development of implementation tools and resources; assisting corporate sustainability reporting efforts; greenhouse gas emissions accounting; and setting reduction targets and developing strategies for world-wide rollout to meet those goals. This is an ongoing contract. Thus far some of the major milestones have been:</p>

<p>UGN Team member served as the sustainability consultant for this new mixed-use city. Services have included coordinating participation in the LEED-ND Pilot Program; developing overarching green design principles; strategic guidance with the project&rsquo;s overall sustainability goals; and assisting with a carbon footprint initiative. When completed in 2012, New Songdo City will include 350 buildings, housing 65,000 residents and a workforce of 300,000 people. The development is being designed and constructed to LEED-ND guidelines, and each of the 350 buildings on site is targeting LEED certification (Major buildings targeting LEED Silver and Showcase buildings targeting LEED Platinum). New Songdo City is placing an emphasis on alternative transportation including bus transit, a new subway line, hydrogen buses, water taxis, over 15 miles of bike path, and bike share programs. The city was designed with a focus on density and open space with 515 acres of dedicated green space including a 18-hole golf course. Additionally, New Songdo City will feature:</p>

The project is an $8.4 Billion USD development, with 1.6 million m2 / 18 million sq.ft. of buildings. The U.S. Green Building Council has awarded LEED Gold certification to ARIA Resort &amp; Casino&rsquo;s hotel tower, convention center and theater, Vdara Hotel &amp; Spa, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, Veer Towers and Crystals retail and entertainment district. Using cutting-edge solutions, CityCenter has been able to grow responsibly without sacrificing the quality of materials or guest experience.
